Hello, I see you're looking for some guidance on this setup. It sounds like you're trying to switch from SteamOS to Windows 10 on your Alienware Steam Machine R1. You mentioned cost differences and wanted compatibility with games that don't support Linux. After changing the bootable USB and activating Windows 10 Pro, other PCs worked fine, but you're wondering if something went wrong during installation or if the upgrade itself caused issues.

Your Windows code designed for Windows 10 Home won't function on Windows 10 Pro. A standard download doesn't include a license key priced at $85, so using an activation code is necessary for the version you have, otherwise you're stuck.

W10 is no longer available at no cost. If you haven’t already set up W10 on that computer, you’ll have to purchase a license.

I wasn't sure where you located the additional links, but I appreciate the $20 for pro key.
