I'm facing problems with Windows 10 x64 build 1803. When restarting, the CPU stays at 100% and I have to reset the power plan to default. After a few restarts, it returns quickly but still lags. I've switched to High Performance mode, which saved the settings, yet the issue persists. I've tried creating a custom power plan via cmd and using 'powercfg -restoredefaultschemes', but nothing works. Any suggestions other than a full installation?

I can't directly access the task manager to identify the program. Could you share the details or logs from the task manager so I can help pinpoint the cause?

In the power profile configuration, you can define the lowest CPU utilization at around 15%. Remember, it may increase to 100% when tasks require more processing, which is normal and acceptable.

Task Manager displays that it’s operating at full capacity. The system runs on an i9-7900X, ideal for intensive image work, so I’d like to avoid restricting its performance.

Certainly! The adjustment was intended solely for the minimum setting, which is currently at 15%. Occasionally it defaults to 100%, preventing any reduction during idle or lighter workloads.

Aim for peak efficiency—maximize utilization. If you need to conserve resources, adjust the lowest CPU demand. Performance in applications remains unaffected.
