Over the past nine months Windows 10 has run sluggishly unless the Task Manager is active, then it works smoothly. There might be several reasons for this slowdown—possibly related to hardware changes, software updates, or system performance issues. It’s been a problem since Windows 10 first launched, even though I’ve upgraded my graphics card and switched to an insider build. I’ve reached my limit with the GTX530 and eventually gave up. I’ve reached out to Windows Customer Support a few times, but they haven’t provided much help; they even recommended a clean install. Recently, I’m considering if the SSD could be the culprit, though I don’t have any concrete evidence yet. My rig’s specs are listed on the profile page, and I welcome any suggestions. Cheers!

Do you possess an SSD? It would significantly enhance performance.

Sure, the operating system runs solely on the SSD, while the remaining storage uses two HDDs.

Perform a malware check, as slowing down the system until you access Task Manager to identify issues resembles malicious behavior.

It's possible you installed something about nine months back.
