Windows 10 on old pc
Right now I own a small PC that’s quite old and isn’t used much. It runs Windows Server 2003. I’m thinking about switching to Windows 10, but would that slow things down? It has an AMD Sempron 2200+ processor and 2 GB of RAM.
It ran a bit behind XP on my PC. I haven’t tested version 10 yet, but I’m pretty sure it won’t fix the chipset driver problems from the older Athlon x2 setup.
Consider installing Windows 7 on your device first, then proceed with loading it.
It's the characteristic of proprietary programs that the supplier only backs the operating system present at that moment.
I share the view of @SCHISCHKA since certain computer driver files only work with specific operating systems. I planned to switch from Windows 10 to Windows 7, but discovered my drivers are compatible only with Windows 8.1 or newer. Unless you purchase parts that function across multiple platforms.
