A few months ago I assembled a fresh PC and instead of purchasing a new Windows 10 license, I repurposed an old laptop I no longer use. Now I aim to bring that laptop back online, and I’m wondering if key conflicts will arise. Can I operate the old laptop with Windows 10 without generating a new license?

Refers to an older laptop with a license key tied to a previous operating system, such as Windows 7. The license likely remains valid because the original key was never lost, unless the upgrade wasn't a factory install—then the factory setup would still carry an active license.
