Windows 10 login screen missing, possible broken user account.
I observed my AMD system (in sig) ceased mining Ethereum sooner than expected. Remote connection failed. No changes when using a monitor, so reset was performed. Desktop functioned properly. Overall behavior seemed off. Through testing, I discovered the start menu was inaccessible and right-click shortcuts for resolution or settings didn’t work. Classic control panel and system properties remained usable via right-click on the icon. It appears newer components stopped responding. After checking Goggle, I ran: sfc /scannow - completed with no errors reported Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth - completed with no errors reported. In powershell, I attempted: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}. Progress was limited, then stopped entirely. No significant activity detected. Prolonged login as another user resolved the issue, indicating a profile corruption. I’m struggling to find a solution without altering my setup. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’d prefer not to switch accounts if possible, given the extensive configuration already in place.
He used that on the Windows Insider preview builds for a while. For a few months I had to log out and log back in every time I restarted. I could simply log out of my user account and log back in, and everything would function again. I wish I had more guidance, but it stopped after one of the update releases and hasn’t happened since then, so I didn’t need to dig deeper.
