Hello everyone, I've been using Windows 10 for some time now and it worked fine at first. Recently though, I've faced a problem that's really frustrating. Opening File Explorer feels like waiting a million years, and I can't access my computer. I haven't downloaded anything recently, but I suspect there might be malware present. Do anyone know what to do? My system specs are: i3-2100 CPU, one 1TB HDD (two virtual drives), GTX 980 GPU, Kingston Hyper X 8GB RAM.

When launching, check system usage. If it's at 100%, reinstall Windows.

The system's performance metrics are normal, but a full disk usage indicates it's actively being used.

Refreshing your hard drive seems like the ideal solution right now. It used to occur on my laptop, but I’ve turned off all startup programs, which has helped cut the gap between loading and using the computer. If you can afford it, consider switching to an SSD—they avoid these mechanical problems.

Repair the disk. Check if this resolves the issue.

Several people here have been reporting this same exact issue. Since it's all at the same time, I'm suspecting it has to do with a buggy update. I wouldn't be so hasty as to go re-installing just yet. If it's a bug in an update, it'll re-represent anyway and likely be fixed fast if you just wait a day or two.
