Last week I set up Windows 10 on my desktop after a fresh installation left everything clean. It functioned perfectly then, but now when I launch Chrome and open Explorer, it crashes repeatedly. Are others experiencing the same issue? Do you have any suggestions?

there are many entries in the event log, but perhaps that’s typical, i don’t usually check it closely.

I've noticed Windows 10 can attract malware in certain situations. Consider using Malwarebytes for extra protection. It doesn't necessarily fix the issue, but it won't cause any harm.

Perform a malwarebytes check immediately, according to the advice given. Run it in safe mode for better removal effectiveness.

I'm initiating a malware analysis scan now, and will switch to safe mode upon completion

It appeared to resolve the issue. Malware detected but resolved once the system returned to normal. Appreciate the assistance!

It's a good idea to use malwarebytes frequently—about 6 to 12 times a year. Others may suggest different tools as well.

I've encountered the same problem. I need to launch Chrome with admin privileges even though I have admin access. Additionally, games such as H1Z1 aren't functioning properly, and since Chrome is my default browser, it won't open links from friends easily. I have to paste links manually.
