There seems to be a problem with both Windows and Ubuntu not booting properly. It appears the issue might be hardware-related, possibly involving the motherboard. The original hard drive doesn’t seem to be the cause, but there’s a concern about RAM behavior—sometimes 2GB of memory appears and disappears unexpectedly. This inconsistency could affect system stability. Additionally, occasional long boot times followed by blue screens and freezing during reboot suggest further hardware or power issues.

It looks like your hard drive is failing. Probably the drive is dead... That’s my thought. Usually, when an HDD breaks, Windows won’t recognize it, but Linux can still access the files. I’ve worked in a tech shop and often found myself saving data to Linux before discarding the old drive, since Windows sometimes can’t read it. Linux is really strong.

However, I delete the hard drive while attempting a boot from the USB, and the issue continued.

However, the system didn’t recognize Windows even when using the recovery software on the USB drive, and I took out the hard drive just to confirm it wasn’t the issue.

Likely a bug fix utility perhaps? Not certain. GL

Consider upgrading to a different HDD or another HDD, and also install a fresh Windows setup USB.

I attempted the USB recovery on a different machine and it functioned properly. Now I plan to relocate the HDD to that computer and attempt to launch the USB repair utility from there, hoping it resolves the issue—if not, it might indicate a problem with the HDD itself.

Consider testing a different SSD instead, or wipe your drive and start fresh with a Windows setup from USB. Focusing on the recovery USB might not be helpful in this situation.

I accidentally mentioned restoring a USB, but I was talking about that link. Trying to set up a fresh Windows copy from the USB also leads to freezing on the computer.
