Hello everyone, what are your thoughts on Windows 10? I'm planning a new PC and need the best gaming OS, but it feels like Windows 10 comes with a high cost. Are there other choices besides Windows 7? What are everyone's recommendations? Would Linux be a good option for gaming? I meant not just the price, but also privacy concerns like spyware and data collection, loss of personal information, and unreliable updates.
You can obtain it for 25 USD, but you can also never enable it and always see a watermark in the lower right corner for good. Still, updates will never happen. My opinion on Windows HA is that I use Microsoft for about 10 years starting from W XP. After 8 years I switched to Linux because I don’t like the way it changes. I prefer everything in one hand—especially for playing games that aren’t available on Linux. But gaming is fine with it.
Windows 10 is a standard operating system with typical features and issues. Restarting often fixes many problems. For gaming performance, Windows 10 is preferred due to better support for the latest drivers. Compared to Windows 7, it runs smoother for everyday tasks. Since support for Windows 7 is nearing its end, switching to Windows 10 is a smart choice. Regular updates for new features are available at no extra cost. You can find Windows 10 for around $20-30 on various sites, matching the price of older versions. I’ve never encountered issues with the $20-30 versions before.
Windows 10 is the only option available. It’s essential for compatibility with the newest processors from both Intel and AMD. For learners, you might be able to obtain Windows (and Office) at no cost. If you currently hold a retail license for Windows 7 or 8, you can move it to your new device. Also, if you previously used the "Get Windows 10" tool, you can upgrade to Windows 10 without charge during the free upgrade window (unless you disabled it on day one or earlier).
