I enjoy seeing my window icons in the detailed view, but I frequently notice a strange green bar appearing at the top. What’s its purpose? Why does it appear sometimes and disappear others? It bothers me when I’m organizing files, like when I renamed music files in this folder and the bar would start up repeatedly. What could it be?

The bar only displays the status of the directory on the drive. Each time you rename a file, relocate it, or copy it, it must refresh the directory information. Keep updating files and the directory will stay in sync. Good luck!

Interpreting the metadata, adjust your folder to general if you prefer.
