Considering your setup, the best Windows 10 edition for gaming would likely be Pro Consumer. It offers the necessary performance and resources to handle your high-end hardware like the i7 4790K, 16GB RAM, and GTX 750 Ti. The included features such as Hyper-V, Articulation, and the X200 case should also support your needs.

The reviewers claiming otherwise are likely exaggerating. The performance gap between Pro and Home editions is almost negligible. For everyday use and a standard gaming rig, Home suffices. Pro shines only when you have over 128GB of RAM and wish to use advanced features like BitLocker Require domain joining. Prices for both models are comparable if you manage to secure the discount.

Home and Pro versions function identically. The main distinction for players lies in handling Windows Updates with Pro.

I believed a pro was necessary for multisocket as well.

It brought back some thoughts and felt accurate at first. But after checking, many discussions confirm Pro is necessary for dual socket setups. The Microsoft page seems unclear compared to the forum comments.

It might have been Windows 7 or 8, probably thinking about it.

I default to Pro for simplicity. I also type accurately. I don’t know why either, but it works.

The RAM details in this table seem to conflict with the information provided elsewhere. It appears to be a Microsoft reference.

Yes. Both Pro and Home run offer the same programs and apps. Microsoft just activates certain business tools when you purchase Pro. The operating system remains the same except for those additional features you unlikely need.
