Hello everyone, I recently assembled a new gaming setup with an i7 9700K, R9 390X and 16GB RAM. I made a USB installation drive using Microsoft's utility. In BIOS everything seems fine—memory is detected, CPU speed and temperature are normal, the M.2 SSD is recognized and functioning properly. However, when I connect the drive and power on, I land in Windows Installer. On my first try, I selected language, chose custom install, picked the drive, and the file transfer completed successfully. During installation, I reached about 18% and the system crashed (my mouse stopped working). I retried, but it crashed again at around 4% and then failed to load Windows properly on the setup page. After re-downloading the ISO from the USB, the crash happened once more on the setup loading screen. Could anyone suggest possible causes for this issue? I don’t notice any hardware problems, only a failure during installation. Thanks, Ben.

Install Linux first, then verify stability. If Windows Media fails, recreate the setup and try again. If Linux still crashes, your hardware configuration may be incorrect.

Try different USB sticks and connect via the 2.0 port on your motherboard.

I plan to purchase a new USB drive, as the one I currently use is a low-cost 16GB freebie from Disney Land. Additionally, I intend to perform a BIOS update.
