Hello. My CPU is an 8700K with 16GB DDR4 RAM, using GSKILL XMP (3000MHz) and two disks: a 525GB SSD (Crucial MX300) and a 500GB HDD (TOSHIBA 7200RPM). I downloaded Windows 10 1709 from Microsoft Windows 10 1709 and created a bootable ISO in a Kingston Data Traveler pendrive. During installation, I formatted both the SSD and HDD. I selected to install Windows 10 on the SSD. After the setup, I encountered performance problems: after a clean install of Fall Creators, my computer slowed down. When visiting websites via Edge or browsers like Firefox or Chrome, clicking links would cause the browser to hang. Checking system settings didn’t resolve the issue. I recall that during installation, the NVIDIA driver was installed automatically in the background, which fixed the problem after about 15 minutes. Event logs showed two to three failed updates. I tried formatting the disks again and reinstalling Windows 10 from the pendrive, but everything worked smoothly this time. My question remains: why didn’t I experience these issues after a second format and clean install? Thank you for your explanation. From what I read online, the problem is reproducible. Some users reported similar issues after each fresh installation on a formatted partition. I’m unsure if my hardware or settings are the cause. The system now runs smoothly—games no longer crash, memory tests pass.

While loading certain websites, regardless of the browser used (Edge, Firefox, Chrome), clicking links causes the application to freeze and not respond. Even after adjusting system settings or opening the settings window, the issue persists. I recall that during installation, Windows would start automatically in the background with the NVIDIA driver, which resolved the problem after about 15 minutes. Additionally, there were two to three entries logged in the event logs indicating a failure to install update 1709.
