Windows 10 Home indicates no deferred updates but does not exclude deferred reboots.
So I noticed a similar issue with "no deferred updates" on the Windows 10 Home version. Whenever an update arrived, the system would abruptly restart, interrupting whatever you were doing. I tried reaching out to the Microsoft Answers community for official guidance and possibly found a response. ZigZag3143, who has several privileges on the site, suggested postponing the reboot for a few hours at most. Since he isn’t an official employee, I asked if this was confirmed, but no reply has come back yet. However, based on the tags associated with his account, it seems likely to be accurate.
Looking at early discussions, it’s important to understand that in Windows 10 Home you can’t prevent updates from installing automatically. The OS will download and apply them instantly unless you have a Pro or Enterprise license. This led many to believe you couldn’t even delay the restart, which motivated me to share this observation.
It was identical with Windows 7, too—you’d see a message letting you delay it for up to four hours, and it’s still bothersome.
You can delay the process whenever you like. The Technical Preview helped me skip updates for more than a week since I often forgot to let the system refresh itself. (It could become bothersome if it keeps reminding me daily) I chose to have Windows Update set to prompt a restart instead of automatic.
