Support Obama. Just restored your previous system and turned off the original key, then re-enabled it on the new machine using the same code.

After the conversion, did you use a tool to restore the new Windows 10 key? Please note that the next release of Windows 10 will support activation with your existing Windows 7/8.1 key during a clean installation. Right now, you’ll likely need to recover the converted key or install Windows 7/8.1 first before proceeding.

The situation varies based on the previous CPU and motherboard. If both were recent Intel processors, you might be able to install the old hard drive and boot it up, after updating drivers. However, always replacing the CPU and motherboard is significantly more advantageous.
