It's surprising that Microsoft acknowledged not everyone uses tablets anymore. I'm planning to install the developer preview on a test machine soon to check its performance. I'm excited to try it out despite 8.1's oddities—it runs about five times faster than Windows 7 and hasn't ever caused any crashes. If many users share these qualities, I might be able to get it. Also, I don't need ClassicShell for the start menu. What are your thoughts? And how's the 10 preview working for those running it?
I tried it for a bit and liked the results. I stopped using it when a friend needed a laptop and gave it to them—probably because their machine was older. I’m not planning to use a VM with it anymore since I prefer a fully native setup. The old laptop was around five years, but it performed surprisingly well.
They probably aimed to shift focus toward Windows 8. It seems Microsoft initially wanted users to transition to tablets like the Surface Pro, but later adjusted their approach to better match consumer needs. I’m excited about the upcoming final version and its release. Can’t wait!
You're thinking about wiping Windows 10 and reinstalling Windows 8.1. With Microsoft adding a key logger to the preview version, recipients would be concerned about their data being shared with Microsoft, for security reasons.
It originally came with Vista and later switched to Windows 7. After removing Windows 10, I reinstalled Windows 7. I understand the keylogger in the preview version of W10 is part of beta testing, and they need data to ensure everything functions properly. Your concerns are valid, but I’m not overly worried about it.
It's still in development and they require feedback on hardware usage and real-world scenarios. The final version of Windows 10 will not include a keylogger. By default, browsers operate similarly to what Microsoft intends, though within their specific environments.
