Windows 10 Fresh version – no Ethernet or Wi-Fi support. MAG Z690 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4 motherboard – brand new PC build.
Hi everyone, just completed my new PC build. The Ethernet cable is connected and lights are working, but I still can't get internet or Wi-Fi. Windows 10 Home x64 (installed from a 2016 USB drive) has its BIOS updated via MSI's site. I tried downloading LAN drivers from both Intel and MSI, but encountered errors. I double-checked and downloaded Windows 10, not Windows 11. I'm stuck without internet and can't update the OS. Is it possible the outdated version is blocking driver installation? Someone can help! I've attached a screenshot of my PC setup. Updated Sept 10, 2023 by OhhhhMyJosh.
Choose Windows 11 with 12th generation Intel processors for optimal performance. Windows 10 struggles more with mixed CPU configurations. Regarding your problem, which version of Windows 10 are you running? The "About System" should display 22H2. If it's outdated, consider updating your USB drive and reinstalling the operating system. I can also set up Windows 11 for you.
I've included the image. It looks like it's outdated and doesn't reflect the latest version. Your current PC runs Windows 10 Home 22H2, which doesn't meet the requirements for Windows 11. You can upgrade to Windows 11 by purchasing a new Windows 11 USB drive or using the built-in installation media.
