Hi, I own a mechanical keyboard and after searching online, it seems many users encounter an issue where Windows automatically selects an ND-Tech USB Adapter driver. Here’s a straightforward solution: open Device Manager, reinstall or update the drivers, and pick the right one. The challenge is that each Windows update resets things, forcing you to repeat the process. Is there a way to prevent Windows from constantly reverting to that adapter? Also, what exactly is this adapter? I found some results suggesting it’s more common than people realize, especially for mechanical keyboards. It seems the default choice for these devices is often problematic.

Personally, I’ve had several Microsoft products fail within a month of warranty expiration, with little support and poor service. Most major brands claim it’s a defect, fix it, or at least offer reasonable solutions. While Linux or Apple might be alternatives, they come with their own drawbacks. In reality, niche setups often stick with established platforms due to strong ecosystems and history—similar to why creatives favor Apple and iOS despite their flaws.

There isn’t a built-in feature in Windows to turn off driver updates via Windows Update. You might need to check specific settings or guides for your version. The current Windows 10 edition you’re using could affect how these options appear. You can disable Windows Update by following the instructions in this post.
