Hey, over the past few days my computer kept freezing and shutting down. I tried updating the drivers, but the issue persists. Need some assistance.

It has remained there consistently over several days or repeatedly occurs whenever I power it off.

If it's been frozen for over ten minutes, you may need to power off your PC by pressing the power button for roughly fifteen seconds or until the display goes dark. If there are no errors, it should boot up normally.

I didn't realize the issue existed after I updated my driver...it didn't happen every time...but it's occurring for a few days now.

while playing Watch Dog I set the GPU fan speed to maximum and immediately turned off my PC, but the issue continued to occur. It seems the problem might be connected to the drivers or fan settings.

It seems like the issue might be related to the driver. If the problem only appears once GPU fan speeds hit 100%, it could indicate Windows attempting a full cooling cycle. I don’t understand why this happens, but it’s occurring. If updating drivers doesn’t help, consider reinstalling Windows.

I experienced a blue screen indicating DPC Watchdog Violation. Both Minidump files appear to be distinct. My system runs Windows 10 on an I7 6700 processor with 16GB DDR4 RAM, GTX 1080 cooler, and a 550 PSU Intex 1000VA gama UPS. Is this what you're seeing?

I can't access the Device Manager directly. However, based on your message, the driver name for your SATA controller is iator.sys. You can use the provided link to resolve the issue: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/dpc_watchd...windows-10

Yes, you're correct, it's iterator.sys.

Switch to the Standard SATA AHCI Controller driver. The iator.sys file doesn't work with Windows 10, which is causing issues. You can update the driver by selecting "Update Driver" and choosing manually from the list of installed options. Pick the one labeled SATA AHCI, then choose it and restart your computer.
