I noticed a few days ago that most of my files in the folders are locked as Read Only. It’s frustrating since my account is marked as administrator. Every time I try to uncheck the box, it just goes back as if I never did. I even checked the security settings on several folders to give me full control, but nothing changed. Windows still treats my account like a regular user. If anyone has any tips or solutions, I’d really appreciate it. I haven’t found a fix in the forum posts I’ve seen so far, and I’m worried about giving up and reverting back to Windows 7.

This read-only box appears as a square inside the box or shows a "✓" sign.

It lacks a verification mark; the black fill appears unintentional.

This indicates that certain files have been set to read-only within the directory.
