Problem: Windows 10 File Explorer repeatedly refreshes thumbnails each time I open a new folder, and every time I restart my PC. I've looked into registry fixes for the thumbnail cache, cleared it, tried various solutions, but nothing works. Once it loads, my computer becomes extremely slow until it's fully operational despite my hardware specs. Please assist. P.S. All drivers are up to date. My system: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU Intel Core i7 4790K @ 4.00GHz 49°C Haswell 22nm RAM 12.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24) Motherboard MSI Z97 GAMING 3 (MS-7918) (SOCKET 0) 41°C Graphics S24D390 (1920x1080@60Hz) 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti (ASUStek Computer Inc) 58°C Storage 238GB TS256GSSD370S (SSD) 32°C 3726GB Seagate ST4000DM004-2CV104 (SATA) 36°C 1863GB Seagate Expansion Desk USB Device (SSD) 33°C Optical Drives No optical disks detected Audio Focusrite USB Audio Windows Build - 17134.345 The fixes are in the files attached below word docs from websites. Consider pausing the application and testing removal options. If unsuccessful, revert within five minutes.

It doesn't appear to be a single drive at gabrielcarvfer. You've removed it and cleared the Windows search index. Consider other possibilities.

I'm not noticing anything out of the ordinary here. I applied all the techniques I've gathered over time, and it worked initially. However, it requires at least one attempt for thumbnails to load fully, but after that it slows down. The methods are included in the files attached to the Word documents from websites. How can I boost the icon cache size in Windows 1087.pdf Thumbnails Fix 3.docx Thumbnails permissions?
