Essentially, you swapped a SATA SSD to another PC, but suddenly a huge empty space appeared. Checked the C drive and found only 115GB used while the remaining 106GB was unallocated. Possible solutions?

You can install WinDirStat, execute it with administrator privileges, and it will analyze the drive to display space usage details.

It displays which folders consume space—62.3 GB of files in the Users directory! The vibrant icons below the folders highlight the biggest files, making it easy to spot them when you hover over the colored boxes.

Certainly, though it indicates 127.9GB is full, Windows reports 215GB used on the C drive...

Yes, I noticed recent malware scans from tools like Malwarebytes. Also, I ran a chkdsk check to ensure the system files are intact.

Nether Malwarebytes or chkdsk resolved the issue. It seems the problem might relate to Windows itself. When I inserted a C disk into another PC a few weeks ago, about 50GB of space disappeared, and now it’s happening again. It could be that Windows mistakenly reserves 50GB as it assumes a new Windows installation is underway, similar to how fresh Windows 10 would occupy around 50GB. I didn’t want to do anything, but the only likely fix might be reinstalling Windows.

Based on the data, the total storage is 237GB. If you're seeing 160GB in WinDirStat, the remaining space likely accounts for the pagefile and hibernation files. Check their sizes to estimate further.

Ignore my previous remark... The Hibernation file size exceeded 80GB. Appreciate it!
