B450 tomahawk offers the latest 3F BIOS. It’s upgraded from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a 5700X. Ubuntu boots normally but often freezes. Windows 10 is really problematic—can’t even install a bootable USB that works. It took more than 12 minutes to reach the main menu and stayed stuck in a blue screen after choosing repair. The K mode exception didn’t resolve the issue, and I tried different RAM sticks but the problem only appears with Windows. What should I do?

Using the advanced OS, Linux might seem like a good choice, but downgrading to Windows makes more sense. If you're running dual-boot, starting with Windows is essential—it can't detect another OS unless it's set as the primary one. Installing Linux afterward is straightforward; just let it know Windows is present during setup. Pick the "Install Alongside" option, and your distribution will handle the rest without much hassle.

I've attempted to turn on secure boot, but Windows isn't starting. I've checked csm and UEFI settings, yet it still doesn't work. The worst part is I can't boot Windows 10 from a USB drive either—it's stuck in the blue screen. The system tries to fix itself automatically, but that doesn't help.

I restored my 2600, restarted on the first boot into Windows. Then swapped it in with the 5700x and it’s functioning now. There’s an auto-configure option when a new CPU is installed on the motherboard—missed that step earlier. Maybe that was the problem.
