Hi. I recently assembled a new PC and attempted to install Windows 10 using Gigabyte BIOS. Each time I try, I receive the following error: File: \windows\System32\drivers\evbda.sys Status: 0xc0000098 Info: The operating system couldn't be loaded because a critical system driver is missing or contains errors. I’m using the USB I purchased online from Microsoft and am trying to install the 64-bit version. Here are my PC specifications: CPU: Intel [email protected], 4-core GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX1060, 6GB RAM, Motherboard: Gigabyte B360M MATX Cooler: Cryorig C7 92mm, RAM: Transcend 8GB DDR4, HDD: Barracuda 1TB SSD, SSD: WD Green 240GB, PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 550W, Case: Segotep X1 ATX MidTower. I’ve adjusted many BIOS settings and double-checked everything to ensure proper booting from the USB, but I’m still unsure why this keeps happening. Would be really helpful if you could assist me. Thanks!

The installation media appears to be an older release, possibly predating Windows 10 B360. It's advisable to get the latest version directly from Microsoft for optimal performance.

I purchased it along with the PC components a week back, so I expect it to be the newest Windows release. I plan to attempt downloading it onto another USB drive to test compatibility.

It's also possible the installation file is damaged. Starting with a fresh one could help resolve the issue.

You can also refer to a big collection of comparable installation issues—this forum and its search feature. The issue might vary, but the solution tends to be consistent.
