Well, would you like assistance or would you prefer to switch to Windows 7? When the system encounters problems, it indicates a driver issue. You're dealing with a specific driver problem now. The next step is figuring out which driver needs attention. This can involve a clean installation, a factory reset, or simply removing and reapplying drivers. Common causes include the chipset SATA controller, especially if you have an additional one beyond what the built-in chipset provides for audio networking (wireless and wired options).

If it requires dealing with drivers, I could tolerate it for a week or two until the SSD arrives.

It seems the hardware is a PCIe device, requiring specific drivers for direct operation instead of relying on older SATA features.

You’ll face several issues beyond what’s listed. Possible CPU incompatibility None working webcam Audio problems Limited support for high-DPI/display scaling (unresolved) Weak touch screen functionality (if available) Inadequate ink support (for digitizing pens) No complete UEFI compatibility (along with many other features of Windows 8 and 10 you’ll miss, though it’s not a major fix—just noted for clarity)

It's rarely simple when challenges arise. If I manage to overcome these issues, I'll have a significantly improved system. Otherwise, I suppose Windows 10 might come back.

Earlier I faced the same issue but it involved a particular SSD model (Samsung 840 Evo) with firmware that didn’t match Windows 10 beyond version 10240. At 10240 it functioned perfectly, but once past that it would lock up during a fresh install within minutes while the full HDD was still active—no one was using that SSD at all. I had to update the firmware to the latest release to resolve the problem.
