Windows 10 experiences unexpected crashes.
Hello there. I own an ASUS Rampage IV equipped with an i7-4930K, two 1080TI graphics cards from ASUS STRIX, 32GB Corsair Dominator SSDs, and a couple of solid-state drives. The temperatures stay stable, but I’m planning to switch to a full custom loop soon. Right now I stick with Noctua DH-15 fans and the stock Strix fan, keeping GPUs at normal speeds with a slight CPU overclock. MSI Afterburner is mainly used to make GPU fans run more aggressively for better cooling. My power supply is a 1200xi Corsair unit. Since switching to Windows 10, I’ve experienced some odd crashes—first the display would flicker, then no signal, sound, and everything stopped working briefly. Just enough time to warn friends I’d crash. During this time I tried various fixes: changed SSD hosting OS, adjusted BIOS (downgraded and upgraded), and modified boot settings. Also, I noticed occasional BSODs with DRIVER_POWER_FAILURE during login. If anyone has faced similar issues, please share your experience—especially if you’ve upgraded the motherboard or CPU/RAM, as I’m not worried about those changes. Thanks!
It seems there may be a driver-related problem. Try checking the driver signing off in Windows and see if it resolves the issue. Here’s a link for guidance: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/disable-d...nt-windows
Hi @xreaperx22, thanks for your response. I’ll give it a try. I usually keep the drivers current through GeForce Experience, which alerts me whenever an update is available, and I always perform a fresh install to maintain a clean registry. I’ll give it a shot and observe the outcome. Regarding the issue, what bothers me most is that my PC ran for about three days without any issues—playing, coding, everything worked fine. Then suddenly it stopped completely. I’m currently setting up a custom loop configuration to improve cooling and made sure all cables were neatly organized. It seems like something might have been loose or faulty before, and now everything is secured with zip ties.
