I own a laptop with Legit Windows 8, loaded with many Sony programs. After updating to Windows 10, everything functioned well until I tried activating it again. Now it shows it isn’t activated, activation fails, and it claims no key or digital certificate is present—even though I upgraded before. Strange, it lists Windows Core Edition instead of Home. The Control Panel says Home, but there’s no watermark or intrusive message. I attempted to activate using the Windows 8 key, but it didn’t work. Help is needed urgently. Please advise what to do next.

Reach out to Microsoft once more; the live chat works quickly. Inform them you attempted a clean install following the upgrade, but the CD key is now being rejected. Let them know you’re ready to supply the key if required for verification.

You recently purchased a Windows 10 activation from Reddit. After upgrading, the installation rejected validation and won’t accept a Windows 7 key either. This has resulted in losing your Windows 7 activation.

I bypassed the important section since I upgraded to Windows 10 before a clean install. I chose the correct edition, Windows Home. The media creation tool fetched both Pro and Home versions, and the installer would simply ask which one you wanted. I’ll reach out to them. I’ve tried Windows Update multiple times, but the November update isn’t showing up.

Your Windows 7 activation key is from Microsoft. Just a note.
