I’m looking for a shortcut or hidden method in Windows 10 to connect via Bluetooth without opening the settings. In Windows 11, I’d like to pin the volume mixer to the taskbar so I don’t have to click through menus. Microsoft’s approach seems confusing, and I’d prefer a simpler solution that works without extra steps. Any suggestions or alternatives would be appreciated.

For per-app volume control, I like to use the built-in Windows game bar, accessible by pressing Win+G. For the bluetooth thing, you can just search for bluetooth in the start meno and boom, you're on the bluetooth page. When you have searched for bluetooth enough, it will even pop up when you have typed "bl", so you can get quite fast that way. Also there is a bluetooth icon in the taskbar (on the right side) that you can click on and immediately get to the bluetooth settings. I don't think there's any other way.

I’ll attempt to use the game bar. I was looking for an app that mimics phone Bluetooth, letting you tap the task bar icon and choose a device to connect. Thanks!

No, that is a Win11 feature with it's improved BT feature set. Also, Win11 support AAC BT codec, while Win10 is limited to SBC, and support communication and music mode. No manual switching like under Win10, and so it now works like your phone
