I just attempted to set up Ubuntu alongside Windows 10, turned off secure boot, and it installed properly on my drive. The Windows M.2 slot is active, but when the laptop starts it jumps straight to Windows without showing the bootloader. Got any suggestions? TIA

When setting up Ubuntu installation, choose "something else" to pick the correct drive. Then select the precise partition for mounting "/home", create the swap space, and choose it during installation. On Windows, open Disk Manager, reduce the partition size to fit your Ubuntu installation needs, and install manually. You can generate the swap partition on the spot using the allocated space for Ubuntu. For booting directly from Windows, press F12 at startup. To have GRUB as the default bootloader, adjust BIOS/UEFI settings to prioritize it. This should assist you.

I installed it onto the M.2 using the free space I created in the disk manager. It still boots into Windows, but when I try an advanced restart and choose Ubuntu, it restarts again and then shows a warning about a secure boot violation before returning to Windows. Pressing F12 during startup didn’t get me into the BIOS; it just displayed a message saying "looking for media" with no media found.

You've turned off secure boot and got into BIOS, but the system still boots Windows first. The GRUB menu isn't available, and you can only access Ubuntu via Advanced Startup, which feels frustrating. It’s a bit tricky having to switch between Windows and Ubuntu every time you want.
