You can also purchase a professional key for a small extra cost. I shared a genuine OEM version, but it probably won’t be relevant anytime soon and it’s significantly less expensive than buying it new.

No, you cannot upgrade hardware solely using an OEM key, even if you contact Microsoft.

They follow a fairly strict policy for OEM upgrades, but they rarely cause issues. They only flag problems related to the motherboard and storage devices you use for data. In most cases, I’ve seen it go smoothly. Swapping the motherboard might require contacting support, while replacing storage usually works without further action. Just keep in mind—my experience with a few systems suggests this isn’t the norm.
