I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 and fixed the key restoration process. Everything seemed fine until unexpected changes in settings. I tried reinstalling and reached out to Microsoft support, but they couldn’t help much. A representative suggested I might need to use older methods to recover my key. It seems there’s no straightforward solution right now—maybe you’ll have to explore alternative ways or consider more advanced recovery options.

I faced a comparable problem where numerous software updates pushed me back to Windows 7. My license remained valid and functional. Now I'm concerned about reinstalling Windows 10 again. Although I haven't done it yet, others suggested it should work since Microsoft links your key with your machine ID, making it compatible with both Windows 7 and 10. Unless you alter hardware settings, your key should remain usable. This isn't my exact case, but I thought it might help!
