Hey everyone, my Windows 10 had some issues recently. The Wi-Fi stopped working and the Start Menu broke. I tried using the reset build to restore it to factory settings. Luckily, since my system was older than Windows ME, that didn’t happen. Now here’s the funny part: after resetting, I checked the activation status and everything looked good. Three days later, a screenshot showed up. Pay attention—this joke is about something else. They discovered a license for my device under Windows 10 Home, but to activate it I needed Windows 10 Home itself. So I had to either install Windows 10 Home or buy it. That’s enough of this frustration. If anyone has a fix, I’d really appreciate it. Maybe it’s time to switch to Linux just for this machine? It’s not great for gaming, but I’m upset Microsoft made my license invalid.

Clicking "I changed hardware on this device recently" will likely open additional choices. You may need to contact support, which should take around five minutes. If you mention using the reset OS option and it didn’t work, they’ll probably help you further.

It's noticeable! The 'o' appears differently, yet they seem alike!

Sorry about the issues. It asked for my MS account login, which didn’t work. I haven’t used that account recently, so they needed a phone number instead. They also asked for an alternative email and asked friends to verify my identity—eventually I gave up. I think a fresh installation from a USB or disc could help, but I’m open to other ideas that don’t require an MS account.

No new releases were available until today for Windows 10 during the timeframe you mentioned. If your system remains fully updated, it seems like a virus or malware might be interfering with the OS. A clean installation is recommended. Regarding activation, it depends on your initial setup and whether you altered any hardware. Use the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, prepare a USB drive, and back up your data before proceeding. Today’s release includes Creator Update.
