Explorer is the main Windows service. (Unless someone has installed malware using that name as a cover—let's set that aside for now.) Is this an ongoing issue? Have you made any recent changes? Is this a fresh application? Could you provide details about what the program looks like? This seems similar to the Windows process showing sluggish or unresponsive behavior. Please share: System specifications—CPU, RAM, GPU model. Do you use an SSD for your main drive or an older mechanical hard drive? Next time you press Ctrl+Alt+Del, open Task Manager. From the "Performance" section, launch Resource Monitor. Keep it visible. When the system freezes again, note the resource usage breakdown in different categories.

I own a Ryzen 7 3700X with 32 GB RAM, a 5600X processor, and an SSD for storage. It’s not freezing, but seems like a minor hiccup. A fresh Windows install didn’t resolve the problem. I experienced this issue about six months ago, and it would sometimes fix itself on its own.
