Usually runs Windows 8.1. But if you're using Windows 7, skip the upgrade. For a brand-new operating system, choose Windows 8.1.

There isn't a massive upgrade, but I'd suggest Windows 8 or 8.1...

8.1 works well, though it might feel a bit bothersome

In my experience, Win7 is the best choice for me. I find it more consistent compared to Win8.1, which often had mouse lag or display problems. However, I’m currently using Windows 8.1 on my desktop and it’s performing well with recent games.

Take the number 8.1, skip handling the tiles, visit nitenite.com, and try Classic Start.

You're considering purchasing an operating system right now, but currently you have no OS available. If you want to upgrade, consider installing 8.1 and using Classic Shell. Windows 8.1 performs better than 7 and offers significant enhancements, though if you already have Windows 7 installed, the upgrade may not be worth it due to cost considerations.
