When I start my PC, the Desktop app’s including folders, Word or Excel documents, and anything on my desktop appear with a small white circle featuring a red center and a tiny dash. This changed from a white circle to a gray X without a circle, and now when I move the mouse over them it transforms into a green circle with a small white check mark. I’m not sure why this has been happening for a while, especially since it began after I reloaded Windows 10.

Sorry for the numerous projects, I believed I had shared my response some time ago; here it is.
It was a while since I faced difficulties with the recent installation of Win 10, which took place after my motherboard and hard drive needed replacement. The USB stick Lenovo sent me contained a glitch when trying to load Win 10. During the setup it halted halfway and asked me to log into my MS account, prompting me to search for my password while it continued loading on its own. Over time, I encountered further issues, so I reached out to Lenovo, which provided a new download link. I then shared instructions on Tom’s forums and had to reload all my programs, including MS Office 2003, which I had relied on for years because I preferred it over the new version. Recently, several other problems emerged. Now this might not matter since I’m getting a new PC, but this one will be passed to my spouse to replace her old one, and she will install Win11 on a Lenovo device. I wanted to resolve this issue so that when I reload MS Office 2003 on my new machine, I’d know how to fix it if needed again. I’ve always appreciated the guidance from fellow users, which has been very beneficial over the years.
