They'll function, what motherboard? The PSU isn't great but offers ample power and should suffice. I'd like a more suitable one in the 500-550 range.
Yeah it will work.
AMD CPUs are hard to recommend right now as there is just barely enough juice to support a high end graphics card.
They basically can't support two high end graphics cards in SLI or Xfire.
I'd rather see you do something with a i5-6400 and overclock it using BCLK for a cheaper gaming rig.

The Rig performs adequately; I decided to switch to an Intel rather than AMD as suggested. That matches exactly what Greens recommended.
I implemented green's suggestions and updated my build:
Toshiba 1TB 7200rpm Sata3 DT01ACA100
Thermaltake Versa H24 (CA-1C1-00M1WN-00) Windowed
Asus GTX 960 Strix DC2OC 4GB 128Bit DDR5
Corsair CX750 750W 80Plus Bronze Power Supply
Intel Core i5-6600 3.30-3.90GHz Skylake
MSI B150 Gaming M3
Would it be significantly better?
Update: I heeded green's suggestion and modified my build:

MSI B150 Gaming M3
Would it really be an improvement?
Any chance you'd consider a Z170 motherboard? You'll notice the extra features especially with a non-K CPU.

Consider purchasing a higher-quality power supply; the CX models are quite weak and you wouldn't need close to 750 Watts for that 300 Watt PC.
If you're in the US, this option is roughly comparable in price and offers better performance.
