Will this computer system be able to operate American Truck Simulator successfully?
A customer is interested in purchasing American Truck Sim, and after a preliminary assessment, I believe the game likely won’t achieve a frame rate of 30 FPS on his existing hardware. I'd like to consult with individuals possessing greater expertise to confirm this assessment. If 30 FPS proves unattainable, what frame rate do you anticipate he would experience, considering his specifications? His current system includes:
Processor: AMD E2-7110 APU (2015 M.Ca)
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon R2 Graphics
Hard Drive: Seagate ST500LM021-1KJ152 500GB
Memory: Samsung M471B5173EB0-YK0 1x4GB
Motherboard: HP 255 G5 Notebook PC
The minimum system requirements for American Truck Sim are:
Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit.
Processor: Dual core processor at 2.4 GHz.
Memory: 4 GB RAM.
Graphics Card: GeForce GTS 450 equivalent (Intel HD 4000).
Storage: 3 GB of free space.
I suspect his graphics card is the primary constraint, although his processor isn't performing exceptionally well either. Please share your opinions on this matter. Thank you.
He might attempt that, but I honestly doubt it will manage a frame rate of thirty frames per second even with the lowest settings enabled. Steam, however, always provides a refund option.
Despite its initial release, that was a significantly inexpensive laptop. It could possibly handle it, but you'd experience slideshow-like performance for video games. A contemporary laptop featuring current Intel graphics and an i3 or any AMD Ryzen processor (with dual channel RAM recommended) would be a more suitable solution.
