Will there be sufficient power supply for the upgrade?
Will there be sufficient power supply for the upgrade?
Hi all,
i’m preparing a Christmas upgrade for my old PC:
GPU: RTX 2070Super
CPU: Ryzen 3700x - Noctua NHu12s
PSU: 750w seasonic focus GX gold
plus a few 120mm Corsair fans with RGB connected all through iCUE Commander Pro
to something like:
GPU: MSI Suprim SLIM RTX 4070 Ti or GB Aorus Elite version
CPU: Ryzen 7800x3d
Memory: GIGABYTE B650 AORUS ELITE AX + 32GB RAM
Right now i’m only using high refresh 1080p but plan to go up to 1440p and the PC is mainly for gaming.
The question is, will the PSU be enough? MSI suggests a 700w unit at least, but every other maker has at least 750w.
Is there something specific I should know? Maybe performance issues with MSI models or better power-saving BIOS on these cards?
Thanks for any advice and tips!
It's true, many elements influence recommendations, meaning no single company will always have the same approach. Your PSU is acceptable in any event.
Thanks a lot,
likely to purchase an 850W anyway just to be safe, it depends on the quarterly rewards.
