Currently I own a 2070 super and intend to upgrade my graphics card to 3070. I’m checking if my Ryzen 7 3700x will be limited by that card. I’ll be playing at 1440p and 1080p resolutions. Updated October 22, 2020 by That One Trash Pc

It varies by resolution. 1080p works – yes, but amounts change with the game. 1440p is unlikely, probably not by a significant amount if it happens. 4k is definitely not suitable.

3070 remains unavailable and your conclusions are clear.

Based on what we've learned from NVIDIA, these statements are likely accurate. While the 3070 might not be drastically different from their claims, the 3070 should align closely with what they advertise. In general, a GPU performing around a 2080 Super or better will probably match the expectations I mentioned.

Does the 2080Ti slow down at 1080p? Absolutely. It doesn’t handle the workload well there.
