I'll focus mainly on first-person shooter titles and sim racing games. My system specs include 2x8GB RAM, a 2666mhz PSU, an ASUS Prime B365MK, an i5 9400f processor, and I'm planning to run them at full resolution. I want to know if my CPU will cause any performance issues with the GPU.
Your GPU isn't strong enough to run games at that resolution smoothly. The main issue is that even with a 550w power supply, your CPU might limit performance if you have a powerful GPU. You really need a full upgrade.
It would be helpful to run the games at 1080p and consider the necessary components.

Unfortunately, this amount isn't much to work with unless you think about selling your old system. If you could stretch your budget to 1000 dollars (950 euros), then this build would be worth considering.

At this price, the latest AMD GPUs offer the best performance for the cost.

In reality, running at mid settings should work well in most games. The monitor resolution is around 3K, while benchmarks are typically for 4K. AMD's Radeon RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 offer improved performance compared to Nvidia's GeForce RTX 2060 and 2060 Super, though they lack real-time ray tracing support.
