The title clearly explains the situation; someone accidentally sat on my laptop while it was in its bag on the couch. The bag itself isn’t fancy—it’s just a regular backpack. They got up quickly after a few seconds when they realized what had happened. Everything seems to be working properly now, but I’m still concerned. There are no obvious signs of damage yet. I’m wondering what might happen if this occurs again. What should I check in my laptop to confirm it’s still functioning well? Things like dead pixels, screen bleeding, or any issues with the lid? I don’t notice any hinge problems right now, but could future damage occur because of this incident? It’s an Acer Nitro 5, so there’s more information about its build.

Any part of any laptop can fail at any moment........sat on or not.
I'd just keep doing what you've been doing and make note of anything out of order. Worry about it then unless you have no choice. There's no better choice than letting it develop....rather than speculating.

The main issue after sitting on a laptop is a cracked screen. If the screen is intact, then everything is okay.
