I own a refurbished U46E-1AWX with an upgraded drive and SSD, which I've been using occasionally over the past couple of years. I'm unsure if I'm damaging its battery by using it so infrequently, but I'm concerned it might be reaching the end of its life. Last week, I accidentally unplugged my laptop for more than two hours and returned after a while, finding that most of the charge was still there. After a short session and shutting down via the OS, I checked the battery and saw over an hour remaining, even more than 1:15 at that time. Now, after seven days, when I booted it up, it showed only about 20 minutes left on the battery. I'm running Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS and used the power off function—no hibernation involved. Thank you kindly.

It’s possible that various factors might cause issues, even with proper maintenance like laptop care or battery management. Many products are still designed to fail eventually, especially when they reach the end of their lifecycle. This doesn’t necessarily mean it’s happening now, but it’s true that durability is limited. A bit of skepticism is understandable.
