Will GTA V work on a core i3?
The reports suggest it might not run smoothly on dual-core systems, but with an i3 offering four threads, some believe it could work. Many have tried installing and playing it, so you can share your experience. I own an i5 4690K and a GTX 970, so the issue isn’t personal—I’m putting together another budget rig and want optimal performance for the price.
The I3 series is compatible with most systems, including 4xxx models without issues.
Plus one! Observe how the internet works—when you do a Google search, this topic appears in results, assisting others with similar queries. The fun is on, I guess most have tried it already. That’s the point I’m asking about.
I'm checking the 4160 specs, but saying "should" isn't certain. People have mentioned it needs four full cores and an i3 won't work at all. The minimum requirements are a Q6600 quad-core processor, and their feedback suggests they'd prefer a newer, more affordable dual-core option since the older processor is outdated. Right now, it's just speculation until someone confirms they've actually run it successfully.
In theory, it's possible, but in reality we've seen what happened with Far Cry 4—it worked normally until it was deliberately disabled.
It seems the game has experienced significant delays. Now it should be fully optimized for PC. Thanks to console players for helping with the beta testing.
The newer i3 model should handle everything better than the older Core 2 Quads. GTA 4 was demanding on the CPU, but it performed well thanks to good optimization, and I’m hoping GTA 5 will be similar.
