I saw gear 1 isn’t working on the PC anymore—it was a big issue at launch, but it seems stable now. My main concern is whether gears 2, 3, and the judge will all be available for PC play. I’d like to enjoy them without needing an Xbox One. I’m using Windows 10.

Gears 1 launched on PC about ten years ago, while Gears 4 is expected soon for PC. I haven’t noticed any updates for the latter yet.

Currently, Microsoft appears reluctant to release PC versions of these titles unless they’re included in a major cross-platform marketing campaign for an upcoming highly anticipated title. A $15–20 remaster of Gears 3 for PC seems unlikely unless it was tied to a larger product rollout. The most plausible path I envision is that Microsoft handles a remaster similar to Halo’s Master Chief Collection for Gears of War. In the future, they might bundle these games for the Xbox Five and eventually port them to Windows 12 or another platform we use.

They just released a new version for PC recently, not ten years prior. It’s disappointing—I truly wished to revisit it.

Gears 1 launched for PC together with the Xbox 360 launch. The remaster isn't the initial release that works on PC.

I understand now. It’s evident I was referring to the remasters after reviewing my post and the discussions that followed.

Without those titles being recreated, the likelihood is zero
