Will Fortnite function on my computer, or will it not?
Hello,
My computer’s specifications are detailed below—will it be capable of playing Fortnite at a minimum resolution of 480p?
Computer: Fujitsu Esprimo E400 e85+
Motherboard: D2990-A3
Processor: i3 2130 @ 3.4GHz
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics 2000 (integrated)
Memory: 8GB
Storage: 500GB + 250GB Hard Drive
Operating System: Windows 10 Professional
It will function, though performance will be subpar. You likely won't achieve 10 frames per second.
Seriously, is that really only under 10 frames per second? That's disappointing.
Contemporary graphics cards offer an improved likelihood, though not those from approximately seven to eight years prior.
Likely, it won't be able to run properly. Your central processing unit could handle the task adequately and you have sufficient memory, however, the built-in graphics processor is probably too slow, even with reduced settings and a lowered resolution. I recommend incorporating a separate graphics card, though the amount you’re prepared to invest in an upgrade for your current machine is uncertain. Furthermore, ensure that your computer case has enough space to accommodate the new card you select.
Despite lacking funds for a specialized graphics card, I intend to improve my system by installing an i7 processor – [link to Intel product page].
Intel’s onboard HD 2000 graphics are noticeably slower than the HD 4000 series, though on a desktop processor they could potentially approach that lightweight portable device’s performance. Reducing the resolution significantly might allow for some limited playability, but it would likely appear quite pixelated. Naturally, you can obtain the game and experiment with its performance on your own hardware at no cost. Although the processor could offer a modest enhancement, your overall experience will still be largely determined by the integrated graphics—even if HD 4000 chips are somewhat quicker. Furthermore, the i7 processor could generate considerably more warmth than your i3’s cooler would adequately manage, necessitating a suitable replacement for optimal operation.
Upgrading with a third-generation processor necessitates a BIOS revision, provided your motherboard supports it or if Toshiba has released such an update. A minimum of a GT1030, ideally a 1050 or Rx560, is needed to play Fortnite with satisfaction. These graphics cards would significantly outperform the integrated visuals found in most CPUs currently available. If you can successfully install one of these cards, and your power supply has at least 300 watts and space, it would be a more advantageous investment than a CPU upgrade. Personally, I suggest saving your money and considering a cost-effective Ryzen system instead.
Haha, I'll check to see if I require a new cooling system when I receive that processor—it might look like PlayStation 1 graphics, or even worse.
