Will a 500w power supply suffice for an RTX 4060 Ti with a Ryzen 5 5600?

I really prefer AMD if they offer a CUDA alternative on their GPUs, but I'm comfortable with CUDA myself. I also use NVENC when streaming for fun.
I've heard about ROCm though; support seems limited compared to CUDA and it's only available on certain AMD GPUs (maybe?). It looks promising, but since my project needs CUDA, that's the way to go.
If you come across it for that price, purchase it and let it grow, you won't mind that
I can manage this purchase but the store I plan to buy from doesn’t have Corsair RM850x available (likely because it’s a popular model), though they do carry Corsair RM850x Shift. I’m wondering if these are interchangeable and whether the Shift version has its cables on the side? Additionally, will the dimensions fit in my case since mine is slightly bigger (160x150x86mm) compared to yours (150x140x86mm)?
EDIT: I just found out it won’t work because the PSU’s side will be blocked when I install it, and Corsair says my case isn’t compatible with the Shift variant PSU, so the RM850x is out of stock.
Anyone have other ideas?
The store I'm purchasing from carries only this Corsair CX750 model in their inventory, but it features just 3 SATA power connectors, which is half the number I have on my motherboard (6). I require at least 5, which the MSI MAG A650BN provides. I plan to check online reviews for that model.
Sure. These C4s are quite hazardous, especially after prolonged use—they turn out worse than a used Diablotek unit. Avoid the RTX 3060 and opt instead for the RX 6750 XT or the 6700 XT. Raw performance is superior, even NVIDIA admits that adding ray tracing to 30-series cards is questionable. I’d pick one of those two, depending on your budget. For power supply, a good choice would be the Corsair RM750e, Seasonic Focus GX-750 W, MSI MPG A750GF 750 W, or EVGA SuperNova G6 750-W. It’s all up to you—feel free to ask others what they recommend. Personally, I still use an MSI MAG A650BN in my old PC, which keeps my old Eurocase PSU from blowing up after just two minutes of Minecraft. The PSU is fine, so that’s good.
Sure, just let me know! I've made sure it matches the original length and tone.
I've been searching the internet for a suitable replacement GPU over the past week, especially since AMD GPUs are quite good for their cost. If it comes down to gaming, that's the main consideration. However, I also work with CUDA-related software, and even on a relatively weak 1050 Ti, those programs still run smoothly. I'm open to trying them again if my new GPU doesn't support them. The 12 GB RAM capacity helps prevent crashes due to memory limits.
Raytracing would be nice, but I wouldn't rely on it if it negatively impacts frame rates. My current plan is to stick with 1080p resolution at 60Hz.
I really wish AMD offered a comparable CUDA solution. I've heard about ROCm, though its support isn't very broad and I'm unsure if all their GPUs can run it. That's just my guess.
I spent the night looking for reviews but decided to target a budget of £399/$518/€480 for two items (GPU and PSU). I've already added these PSUs to my shopping list:
SeaSonic FOCUS PLUS 850 Gold [SSR-850FX]
Corsair RM850e (2023) [CP-9020263]
Corsair RM850 [CP-9020232]
MSI A1000G PCIE5 [MPG A1000G PCIE 5]
NZXT C850 (2022) [PA-8G1BB-US]
Thanks!
Good news. I reached out and they confirmed those two PSU's are available in stock. Hope nobody buys them all before I can lol.
Now regarding the GPU, I added these to my list. They all fit within the remaining budget of £283/$367/€340:
Zotac GAMING Twin Edge OC RTX 3060 12GB
Gigabyte GAMING OC Rev 2.0 RTX 3060 12GB
Gigabyte GAMING OC RTX 3060 12GB
MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus 2X 12G OC
Palit Dual GeForce RTX 3060 12GB
Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC Rev 2.0 RTX 3060 12GB
Zotac GAMING AMP GeForce RTX 3060
It seems it's mainly about the brand right now, but I have no prior experience with these manufacturers since this is my first GPU purchase.
If anyone has insights on how these brands perform with GPUs, please share your thoughts. I plan to keep researching reviews for these models later. Staying up late is not fun lmao.
