WiFi suggestions for setting up a network.
Hello everyone, I'm trying to create a home WiFi network and need some guidance. I'm new to this topic and find much of the information confusing. My house is about 200 square yards with two floors—one on the third floor and another on the fourth. It's mostly concrete and brick, no wooden walls, and there are around 20 active devices inside. I don't want to rely on local ISPs, as they seem confident about it working. I'm wondering what type of router would suit my situation best. Should I consider a mesh system with two or three routers, or should I opt for a switch paired with multiple access points? I'd really appreciate some beginner-friendly options and budget-friendly suggestions.
You'll need a wired connection to link the devices effectively. Two layers of concrete will hinder 5GHz performance and restrict 2.4GHz speeds. Consider Ethernet over powerline to connect the units, then place an AP inside each one. Alternatively, explore a P2P bridge from the outside facing each other, or run an outdoor-rated cable between them if possible.
