I've included a picture of the wires entering the house. This is the original setup left by the ISP technician. What I'm used to is a fiber connection either inside or connected to a modem/router via an SFP link. What surprises me is seeing a RJ45 jack-style endpoint. They installed it in the box under my front porch. After my two back surgeries, I find it hard to reach properly. The router they gave me is quite basic—it's just a large, popular model that can't adjust security settings or passwords. If they can't fix this, I might downgrade my connection, revert to cable, or switch to a lower-cost option like Spectrum to keep the same speeds at a lower bill. At this stage, it doesn’t seem related to the TP link.

Hey, consider connecting the router bridge to your deco x55. If that works, the router you received will function mainly as a gateway, so all traffic will go through the third-party router.

It seems the bridge or media converter is likely already positioned externally, making a router connection unnecessary. You might instead configure the Deco as access points.

I contacted the ISP to request a more conventional transceiver installation at my residence. I suspect the problem lies with the incoming line or its limitations. I’ve verified all settings, including NIC configurations on my devices. The most surprising response was seeing the consulting firm’s image receive a dismissive reaction when I shared my earlier visuals. I believe, aside from my follow-up posts once improvements occur, I’m handling this well and appreciate your support.

This was my initial impression too—a power supply unit with screw terminals instead of solid wiring feels quite rough, and placing it at ground level risks a short circuit. The floor-mounted RJ45 port suggests it’s meant for a wall installation. Additionally, the CAT5e connection doesn’t appear suitable for outdoor use.

It's not necessary for anyone to seek an update, but since I understand how frustrating it is when others can relate to a particular issue without a solution, I thought I'd share my thoughts. In short, the main fix was resetting the ISP side (point C below).

A) The ISP stated their setup is considered 'Standard' for residential users, which doesn't meet expectations.
B) After several power cycles, I rearranged the cables both inside and outside.
C) The ISP reviewed the connection and performed a reset on their end.
D) It was discovered that the Pixel 4XL doesn't gain much from WiFi6.
E) Our laptops switched to Half Duplex for Ethernet, affecting speeds.
F) I returned the Deco X55 since we mainly use phones or desktops, and WiFi 6 didn't significantly improve until we get newer devices. I expected better results with mesh systems then.
