Hey everyone, the issue is that my internet speed seems inconsistent lately. I thought it was just my connection, but even after switching to a new internet plan and connecting my phone via Wi-Fi, the download speed is only around 300MB. On the same cable, it caps at about 90MB. I’m curious if this is related to my motherboard.

No, I did not download or install any drivers from Asus' website.

I don't have access to your local network setup. Could you provide details about the Ethernet cable you're using and the speed your adapter is detecting?

What kind of cable are you using? Cat5e?
Are there any bends in the cable? These cables are quite sensitive to bending. I distinctly recall how significant our teacher emphasized this issue.
Which switch are you connecting the cable to? Is it identical to your Wi-Fi setup? If you connect it to a 100Mb/s port, you’d see the expected outcomes. However, with a Wi-Fi 5 switch, it’s improbable it would perform at lower speeds.
First, I’d try replacing the cable. If you don’t have a second long Ethernet cable, use a short one and bring your PC closer for testing.

on my iPhone 7 plus the speed is around 30Mb, which should be about 30M bytes. I haven’t made any changes yet. At first, I used my phone as a hotspot and got unlimited 4G data via an Apple cable—about 100Mbps. Suddenly it dropped to around 30Mb. Then I switched to a 5G router, and the speed jumped to 90Mb. It’s like I’m only getting a third of what I used to get. I think the issue might be with another cable or something else. I’ve tried different cables, including one from my 5G router, but it still doesn’t match. I’m not sure if this is the second cable or something else.

It's also important to understand the distinction. This prevents a great deal of confusion later on.

There might be a software-related issue rather than a hardware problem. I noticed that using both Wi-Fi connections gave similar speeds, but with the iPhone 7 plus in airplane mode, I got up to 363Mbit. It could be an app or settings issue. What do you think?

Consider your response carefully. It might not be that significant.

I've already checked if you updated your network drivers, and you mentioned you haven't. Please do so now.
